Ricky Davis is tough to work with, he will need to have the ball in hand to made the play. in the past he can depand on his athleticism to get by, since last year, he's gone slower, can not jump as high. Minnisota needs to clear some room and shot attempts for the young guns. Blount has always been soft and unable to play inside, he is 7 footer who drifts outside. In which Doleac is more mature and basically does the same thing. more importantly he is a listener who will try to contribute not backstab, lastly he has 1 year on his contract only.Simien has 1 year, Walker has 2 years (This is quote from Kevin McHale), Blount has 3 more years... Mchale want to give the young guys as much room to play as possible this way he saving some years and payroll.
Walker is scorer who's stats has dropped like Niagra Fall. He might be a scoring insurance or future buyout prospect , he still have potential to be a factor, but I think by taking his contract the Wolves are ready to lost some money.
Besides according to McHale some of the players might not report to Minn. he is concern with walker's playing condition, which might not be too bad, Walker is on Reiley's conditioning program now.
Minn. is looking 3 years down the road and has the players that they want, anything they do now is to clear more room for the young guys to learn.
