The Mavericks have agreed to terms on a two-year deal with forward Brandan Wright, according to NBA.com.
The deal is reportedly worth $10 million.
Wright, 25, has spent the last two seasons with the Mavericks after previous stops with theWarriors and Nets. The eighth overall pick in 2007 by the Bobcats, he was traded to Golden State and was never able to fulfill his promise and potential.
He has found a bit of a footing as a bit player for the Mavs, playing solidly off Dallas' bench as a forward/center combo. He's long, athletic, can finish in transition and a solid offensive rebounder.
At $5 million a year, though, that's a pretty steep number it would seem for a guy that contributed 18 minutes a night last season. But the Mavs needed to add to their interior depth and there's still some upside in Wright.
Wright, 25, averaged a career-high 8.5 points and 4.1 rebounds in 64 games last season.
